Terms of Service
Effective date: 31 August 2026
Provider: Alvey Group Ltd (trading as Pest Intel)
How we operate
We build practical tools: fast, usable, compliance-focused.
We expect fair use: no abuse, no illegal use, no attempts to break security.
We are direct about risk: software helps decision-making; it does not replace all professional judgment.
1) Agreement
These Terms govern your access to and use of Pest Intel services, websites, monitoring equipment, and related support. By placing an order or using the service, you agree to these Terms.
2) Business use
Pest Intel is supplied only for business and professional use, not for personal or household use. You confirm that you are buying wholly for business purposes and that you have authority to bind the named organisation to these Terms.
3) Accounts and access
- You are responsible for account credentials and access control in your organisation.
- You must keep login details secure and notify us of suspected unauthorised access.
- We may suspend access to protect service integrity or investigate misuse.
4) Subscriptions, billing, and renewals
- The total fee for the initial 12-month service term is the amount shown at checkout. You may pay that fixed fee upfront or by 12 monthly instalments. Monthly instalments are a payment schedule for the same initial term, not a one-month cancel-anytime plan or a separate credit product.
- You may give notice to cancel at any time. Notice given during the initial term takes effect when that term ends; service continues until then and any remaining monthly instalments for the initial term remain payable.
- After the initial term, monthly billing continues one month at a time and annual billing renews for a further 12 months unless cancelled before the next renewal.
- We will normally email a reminder before the first renewal following the initial term and before a later annual renewal. You remain responsible for keeping the billing email current.
- Cancellation after the initial term takes effect at the end of the current paid billing period. Cancelling does not create a refund for the current period unless required by law.
- Fees are non-refundable except where required by law or explicitly agreed.
- Alvey Group Ltd is not currently VAT registered, so VAT is not presently added. If VAT becomes legally chargeable, it may be added to future invoices where required; we will give reasonable notice where possible.
- Late/non-payment may result in restricted or suspended access.
- While an account is restricted for billing, the signed-in customer can still download retained records for its covered site; new checks and edits remain unavailable until access is restored.
5) Service scope
Pest Intel provides digital monitoring, logging, workflow, and reporting tools. Service features may evolve over time.
A new site subscription includes one standard starter monitoring kit and UK delivery with no separate setup charge, whether the initial 12-month term is paid upfront or by monthly instalments. Each completed 12 months of continuing paid service includes one plan-sized monitoring refresh pack containing replacement non-toxic monitoring blocks and current safety guidance, but not another set of stations, traps or labels. The refresh pack is sent to the current UK delivery address held for the account, and customers must keep that address current. Small, Medium, and Large plans support up to 20, 40, and 80 monitoring points respectively. A larger site plan is required before adding points above the purchased capacity.
The standard starter kit is for non-toxic monitoring. Optional mouse and rat response modules are charged separately when selected at checkout and contain snap traps supplied unset. It does not include rodenticide, pesticide treatment, on-site installation, or contractor services. Any snap trap that is set must be checked every day.
Optional replacement monitoring packs are separate one-off purchases at the price shown in the signed-in app. They do not renew automatically and do not extend, restore, or replace the underlying site subscription.
Unless expressly stated in writing, Pest Intel does not itself perform on-site pest treatment services.
Pest Intel supports pest-monitoring records within the customer's wider safety and compliance arrangements. It is not a complete HACCP-based food-safety management system or a replacement for Safer Food Better Business, professional advice, competent pest-control services, or local-authority judgment. Use of the service does not guarantee compliance, an inspection outcome, or a food-hygiene rating.
6) Customer responsibilities
- Provide accurate site and operational data
- Use the platform in compliance with applicable laws and regulations
- Review outputs and apply professional judgment before acting
- Keep the wider food-safety management system current and retain Pest Intel records for a period appropriate to the nature and size of the business, its products, and applicable authority requirements
- Maintain appropriate internal safety/compliance procedures
- Follow the equipment instructions and the in-app guidance, keep devices away from children, pets, food, and other unsuitable locations, and inspect any armed trap at least daily
- Use a competent pest-control contractor where treatment, specialist assessment, or regulated pesticide use is required
7) Equipment, delivery, and returns
- You must provide a complete UK delivery address and contact details at checkout.
- Founding-customer starter kits are prepared after payment. We normally aim to dispatch them within two working days, but this is a target rather than a guaranteed delivery date.
- We may use a delivery carrier to deliver the starter kit and provide tracking.
- If a supplier disruption prevents us fulfilling the order within a reasonable time, we will contact you promptly. You may accept a revised dispatch date or receive a refund for the unfulfilled purchase.
- You must tell us promptly if a delivery is missing, damaged, incomplete, incorrect, or unsuitable for use. We will repair, replace, or refund faulty or incorrectly supplied items as appropriate.
- You may cancel an unfulfilled order before dispatch for a full refund. As this is a business purchase and kits are packed for the named site, there is no automatic right to return correctly supplied, non-faulty goods after dispatch. We may agree an unopened return requested within 14 days; prior approval is required and the customer normally pays the return cost.
- Returning equipment does not by itself cancel the digital service or remove instalments due for the initial term unless we expressly agree otherwise in writing.
- Starter-kit contents may be replaced with items of equivalent function, safety, quality, compatibility, and monitoring capacity where availability changes. We will tell you before dispatch if a substitution is materially different.
- Title to supplied equipment passes when the applicable order charges are paid in full. Risk passes on delivery to the address supplied at checkout.
8) Acceptable use
You must not:
- Use the service for unlawful or harmful activity
- Attempt unauthorised access, reverse engineering, or security bypass
- Upload malware or malicious content
- Interfere with platform availability or other customers’ use
9) Data and ownership
- You retain ownership of your uploaded/customer data.
- Where we handle personal data contained in your site records on your behalf, you are the controller and Alvey Group Ltd is the processor. Our Data Processing Addendum applies automatically and forms part of these Terms.
- We act as an independent controller for account administration, billing, service security, legal compliance, and our own permitted business communications, as explained in the Privacy Policy.
- You grant us rights to process customer data only as needed to deliver, secure, support, and improve the service in accordance with these Terms and your documented instructions.
- We may use anonymised/aggregated data for analytics and product improvement.
10) Confidentiality
Each party will protect confidential information disclosed by the other party and use it only for the purposes of the service relationship.
11) Intellectual property
Alvey Group Ltd and its licensors retain ownership of Pest Intel, its software, branding, guidance, and documentation. During a paid subscription, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the service for your organisation's covered sites. This does not transfer ownership of the service or permit resale, copying, or creation of a competing service from our materials.
12) Availability and support
We aim for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. Planned maintenance, upgrades, or third-party outages can affect uptime.
The service includes guided workflows and automated next-step guidance. Account and technical support are available through the published contact channels, but the subscription does not include a guaranteed human review queue or response window unless separately agreed in writing.
13) Warranties and disclaimers
To the extent permitted by law, the service is provided “as is” and “as available.” We do not guarantee that outputs are error-free or suitable for every operational decision without human review.
14) Liability limits
Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, breach of terms implied by law about title, or any other liability that cannot legally be limited or excluded.
Subject to the paragraph above:
- Neither party is liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss of profit, revenue, anticipated savings, business opportunity, or goodwill. This does not exclude reasonable direct costs of restoring customer data caused by our breach.
- Each party's total aggregate liability arising from the service in a contract year is limited to the greater of £1,000 and the total fees paid or payable for the affected site in that contract year.
- The liability cap does not apply to your obligation to pay agreed fees, or to liability caused by deliberate misuse of the other party's confidential information or intellectual property.
15) Term and termination
- These Terms continue while you use the service.
- Either party may terminate for a material breach that is not remedied within 14 days after written notice, where the breach can be remedied.
- We may suspend/terminate for non-payment, misuse, or legal/regulatory reasons.
- On termination, you should export the records you need. Data is then handled in accordance with the Privacy Policy and Data Processing Addendum.
16) Changes to service or terms
We may update features or these Terms as the service develops. Material changes will be communicated by website or account email. We will not use a change to increase the fixed fee already agreed for your current initial term, except where a tax or law requires it. Changes to renewal pricing will be notified before they take effect.
17) Events outside reasonable control
Neither party is responsible for delay or failure caused by events outside its reasonable control. The affected party must take reasonable steps to reduce the impact and resume performance.
18) General
These Terms, the checkout confirmation, the Privacy Policy, and the Data Processing Addendum form the agreement for the service. If a provision is unenforceable, the rest remains effective. A delay in enforcing a right is not a waiver. You may not transfer the agreement without our written consent; we may transfer it as part of a genuine business reorganisation or sale, provided this does not materially reduce your rights.
19) Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and disputes are subject to the courts of England and Wales, unless mandatory local law requires otherwise.
20) Contact
Email: info@pestintel.co.uk
Account-support contact details are published in the service. Pest treatment and specialist site assessment remain the responsibility of the customer’s appointed pest-control contractor.
